From 1fd76135e0a52805884645431c7447231f373025 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Miquel Sabaté Solà Date: Wed, 20 Nov 2024 12:03:25 +0100 Subject: Add a note on requirement a little-endian system MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The dt parsing algorithm assumes that a little-endian system is in place and hence most numbers on the DTB blob have to be converted from big-endian to little-endian. I am not planning on changing that any time soon, so let's add this as a requirement. Hence, here there are some limitations/requirements: magically come up with a made up file system or try to fetch something from an existing one. An `initrd` is already provided for you on the default `make` target, and that's what you are supposed to be passing to the kernel. +- RISC-V is ambivalent on the endianness. Not this kernel. Out of simplicity we + require a little-endian RISC-V system. ## Special thanks to -- cgit v1.2.3
